COOKING CLASSES 

Kitchen Door opened THE STUDIO in early 2019 with a vision of bringing avid home cooks together in an incredibly fun and educational setting.  Our classes are designed for all levels and instruction focuses on popular cuisines from around the world using many local ingredients.  Basic knife skills, pro chef tricks of the trade and ingredient-focused cooking is the core of each class.  Class styles are listed below, regardless of the format, you are sure to learn, eat, enjoy yourself in one of our classes.  To book private cooking classes or team-building events, please visit our private class page in the drop down menu.

Classes range between 2.5 - 4 hours in length.
Class pricing ranges between $65 - $125 per person + tax & booking fee

 

DEMO & DINE

Want to know how to use that Instant Pot you got for Christmas or what to do with an abundance of local produce? In these interactive 3 course tasting demos, the chef cooks front
and center, while you sit back, relax and learn through watching, listening and tasting.

 

HANDS-ON

Do you love Jamie Oliver? Ever made fresh corn tortillas from scratch?

 Aprons are donned, hands are washed and the cooking begins.

After the chef demonstrates each course, participants will craft a 3-4 course meal from
preparation to plating. Gather around our communal table after each course,

to enjoy your creations alongside a carefully paired beverage

 

WORKSHOP

In our workshop class, you'll focus on mastering one specific item. Want to know how to make the perfect Burger? Looking to create mouth watering Tacos? Intimidated by making Risotto? This class is for you! Workshop classes run approximately 2-2.5 hours, and are fully hands-on.

 

MAKE & TAKE

Too busy to meal prep? Looking for new recipes that you can prepare and enjoy in the future?

Lessen the load of weekday meals with these hands-on classes! These classes feature
2-3 dishes that participants prepare from start to finish while enjoying light refreshments.

THE STUDIO 
 

  • Full payment is required in advance for all bookings.

  • Gift Certificates are regarded as payment. You can book online using your gift certificate code prior to checkout for payment. Please note that gift certificates cannot be used to pay for private events.

  • All adult classes are for 19+, unless otherwise stated in the class description.

  • If we haven’t reached the minimum number of 10 participants for a class, we reserve the right to cancel the class up to 7 days prior to its date. Kitchen Door will inform registered participants within 7 days of the class date and we will give you the option to either get a full refund or
    re-book for another class later in a form of a credit note valid for 12 months.

  • If we must cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified as soon as possible, and we will give you the option to either get a full refund or re-book for another class
    at a later date in a form of a credit note valid for 12 months.


ALLERGY POLICY
 

  • As a fully operational cooking school, The Studio utilizes nuts, wheat, dairy, sugar and other raw natural ingredients and wholefoods on our premises every day. The Studio is aware of potential allergies to these foods and the severity of the reactions some individual may experience.

  • In the interest of safety and comfort of everybody attending our cooking classes, The Studio has a “General Public Allergy Policy”. This policy applies to all people entering the premises, whether you attend a general cooking class or a private event.
    Please see our General Public Allergy Policy page for more information and to fill in the indemnity form if needed prior to booking a class.

  • The Studio reserves the right to refuse entry to a cooking class or a private event on the day (with no refund or class transfer available) if the participant has a known allergy and hasn’t informed us prior to attending the class or hasn’t filled in the indemnity form.


GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS WHEN ATTENDING THE STUDIO
 

  • START TIME: Classes run by The Studio will start on time. We advise participants to arrive on time for the beginning of the class. We kindly ask that you arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to class commencing as we will be preparing for your class until this time.
    If a participant is late for a class, it is their responsibility to catch up with the rest of the class and minimize disruption as The Studio instructors will not have the time to interrupt the class and begin again for every late participant.

     

  • PARTICIPANT HEALTH RESPONSIBILITY: If you have become ill within 48 hours before your class with any diseases such as colds and flu, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. we kindly ask that you don’t attend class. Those sorts of diseases can be spread through food, so we need to protect all our participants. In this scenario please refer to our cancellation policy.
    The Studio reserves the right to refuse entry to a cooking class on the day (with no refund or class transfer available) if a participant is deemed unwell and at the risk of infecting others during the class.

     

  • PARTICIPANT ATTIRE: Demo and Dine – please note that you will be seated the entire class therefore no specific participant attire required.
    For all other classes, you will be on your feet most of the time. Please be advised NO high heels permitted and closed-toe shoes are required.

     

  • CLASS INGREDIENTS: As we are committed to serve you only the freshest produce, please note that some of the class menus may vary slightly depending on product availability on the day.
     

  • CLASS RECORDING: Some classes may be recorded, and part of the content may be used for promoting future classes on The Studio’s social media and other promotional platforms.
     

  • RIGHT TO REFUSE: The Studio reserves the rights to refuse a participant to attend a class if the instructor or one of his assistants feels they are intoxicated or may cause harm to themselves or anyone else attending the scheduled class or event.
     

  • RELEASE OF LIABILITY: When participating in a cooking class or event where the participants will be around or using sharp and potentially dangerous tools suitable to a kitchen environment, the participant releases, indemnifies and excludes The Studio and its employees from any and/or ALL liability of any kind for any damage or injury incurred while attending or visiting The Studio.
     

  • DAMAGE/LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY: The Studio will take all necessary care but accepts no responsibility for the damage to or loss of merchandise left in the venue prior to, during or after a class or event. The Studio is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items in any form. If a participant does happen to leave an item in class, the participant has 14 days to retrieve the item otherwise The Studio will donate it to charity.
     

  • DAMAGE/LOSS of THE STUDIO PROPERTY: The student or function organizer may be held financially responsible for any damage to or loss of The Studio property during the class or event. The cost of repairing any damage to walls, doors or other parts of the property as a result of inappropriate conduct will be charged to the person or hiring company involved.
     

  • CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE STUDIO: Should The Studio be unable to provide for your class or event due to circumstances beyond the control of The Studio, The Studio is not responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur over and above the cost of the class.
     

  • WEBSITE: This website is owned and operated by The Studio. The use of this website is subject to our terms and conditions.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY
 

The Studio does not offer cash, credit or debit card refunds. Please carefully read the following information on our policy regarding transfers, cancellation and fees.
 

We appreciate advanced notice should you need to reschedule a booked cooking class.

Participants who provide notice 14 days (or more) prior to the booked class will be exempt from transfer fees. Reschedules made less than 13 days prior to the booked class are subject to a $10 booking transfer fee. All class transfers will need to take place upon providing reschedule notice via phone and used towards a class within 8 weeks of the originally booked class. Should there be a
wait-list for the class that you wish to reschedule, and The Studio can fill your spot with alternate guests, the transfer fees will be waived.

 

Cancellations within 7 days of the booked class and no-shows forfeit the full course fee. 

Please note that it is the responsibility of the participant to arrange for suitable transportation before and after a cooking class. The Studio does not allow refunds or transfers due to weather conditions.
 

In exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel published classes. Customers' whose bookings are affected will be transferred to a suitable alternative.
