At
Kitchen Door Catering Company we strive to think of the corporate footprint
that we leave on our planet. We promote sustainable agriculture, the use
of local products (which are often organic) and building strong relationships
with local farmers, producers and suppliers. If we can source a high quality
product locally, we do.
We offer compostable plates, beverage cups, napkins and cutlery for any of our catering events that require a disposable option. These products are purchased from a Canadian manufactuer and are made from PLA (cornstarch), sugar cane fiber, bamboo fiber and potato starch.
At Kitchen Door Catering Company we support the use of non-disposables therefore all pick-up caterings are plated on ceramic platters. In the case of hot food, we will plate in aluminum trays which go directly into the oven (and recycled once rinsed) with ceramic/china platters on the side.
We use biodegradable cleaners in our commercial kitchen and aim at reducing the amount of water we use on a daily basis.
